Police believe the phone was fake and the trade became violent when an argument broke out.
Two men, aged 28 and 39 were stabbed, leaving a trail of blood on the suburban street.
Witness Jeanette Wilson said police initially scoured the area with torches before ambulances and reinforcements arrived to tend to the injured and continue the search for the assailants.

The two victims were taken to Royal Perth Hospital where they remained in a stable condition on Monday.
The search for those responsible for the attack is ongoing.
The attack comes just four months after a 15-year-old girl was sentenced to 12 months detention over a violent knifepoint robbery of a man who was selling his phone on Facebook Marketplace.
The victim, a man aged in his 40s, suffered cuts to the head and had to be treated in hospital after he was ambushed.
