A teenage football talent from the same club as one-punch victim Danny Hodgson has been left in a spinal brace and fearing for his sporting future following a savage and unprovoked attack in Perth’s northern suburbs.
Louis Hadfield, 17, was walking home along Scarborough Beach Rd in Scarborough just before midnight on Saturday after enjoying dinner with friends when he was set upon by four strangers who had jumped from a car.
Hadfield was left with a bulging disk, ligament sprains and will be in a spinal brace for the next month, ending the striker’s season on the pitch with NPLWA outfit Perth RedStar FC.

In a statement, the club said their player was the “victim of a random attack”.
“On behalf of the RedStar family, we would like to express our full support for Louis and hope he can make a speedy recovery to football in the near future,” it said.

One-punch victim Danny Hodgson rushed back to hospital: ‘Never a day of peace’
The incident comes less than two years after Danny Hodgson suffered catastrophic injuries in a sickening coward-punch assault at Perth train station.
Hodgson, 27, had been celebrating with teammates when he was attacked by a teen out on bail for other offences.
He now requires around-the-clock care and has previously described his post-traumatic epilepsy diagnosis as a “life sentence”.

Hodgson’s mother Nicola addressed the latest attack on Facebook, questioning when they would stop.
“Another senseless attack on a young, promising footballer from the same team as Danny Hodgson,” she said.
“When will these senseless attacks stop in Perth? Thoughts and prayers are with the family.”
Police believe the men that attacked Hadfield had been travelling in a white Volkswagen Tiguan.
Their investigation is ongoing and anyone with information should contact police.
