The father of Australian mining billionaire Andrew “Twiggy” Forrest has died surrounded by loved ones at his ancestral Western Australian home, aged 95.
Donald Forrest died in the early hours of Sunday morning “at his beloved Minderoo Station”, which is located south of Onslow in WA’s Pilbara region.
“Don passed away peacefully in his sleep, knowing he was with people and places he loved,” an obituary from his family read.

“We all wish him well in his onward journey.
“He goes with the love, deep affection and enduring memories of all those whose lives his 95-year history has embraced.

“His legacy will be cherished by all who knew him.”
“Don” was remembered as a “loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, stepfather, uncle and patriarch”.
The family will host a funeral on Sunday at Minderoo Station, which has been in the family for four generations.
A memorial service will follow in Perth for family and friends unable to attend his funeral.
