A Perth family is on a mission for justice after the death of their son at Mineral Resources’ Onslow Iron project in WA.
Kieren McDowall, 20, was farewelled by hundreds of mourners at a moving service on Friday.

The contractor’s two sons – two-year-old old Ryder and six-month-old River – were among those saying goodbye one final time.
At the service, McDowall was remembered as a loveable larrikin known as Kezza who loved cars.
“The moment I got that phone call, and found out I’ve lost you, I lost myself too,” his fiancee Bella James said.

McDowall was killed while working at MinRes’ Ken’s Bore iron ore site in the Pilbara in June.
Managing Director Chris Ellison and board member Justin Langer were among those paying their respects on Friday.
Ellison previously said the company was “shocked and deeply saddened by this tragedy”.

“Our thoughts are with the family, friends and the whole Onslow Iron team, and our focus is on supporting them during this difficult time,” Ellison said.
McDowall’s death came amid a spate of worksite fatalities in WA.
Worksite deaths are down in the last 12 months but for McDowall’s family it is a harrowing reminder that one life lost is one too many.
“Nothing will ever bring Kieren back but there’s got to be some level of justice, some level of accountability for what has occurred,” his uncle Dwayne Wescombe said.
