A Perth school has gone into lockdown and residents have been told to stay indoors following fresh reports of gunshots in the city’s northern suburbs on Wednesday.
An initial police search of Clarkson turned up little despite several witnesses hearing gunfire in Clarkson just before noon.
Clarkson Primary School was locked down while police searched its grounds and the safety measure was lifted about 1.15pm.

After the initial reports, Joondalup Police thoroughly searched the area, spoke with witnesses and checked CCTV vision.

“As a precaution, Clarkson Primary School was locked down while police conducted a search of the grounds to ensure the safety of students and staff.”
Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
